It is with great optimism and enthusiasm that I write about the King’s Academy Opportunity Foundation in 2016. Originated as the Class of 1980 Association for King’s Academy, our organization has accomplished a number of goals for King’s including raising funds to provide a student “of great promise and modest means” with a full, 4-year scholarship.
Our first scholar, Sirina A_____, of Jordan has provided a model of hard work and full immersion into all King’s Academy has to offer. We are proud to support her carpe diem approach to life.
Sirina is one example of the potential of the Opportunity Foundation. We can do more, with your help.
Support for our efforts has been substantial, and we are energized in our goal to expand our vision to four scholarships, one in each class at any given time. When a senior scholar graduates, the benefit will be reassigned to a new incoming freshman. We also plan to support KA students during summer months (internships) and post-graduation (mentorships).
To increase awareness and share exciting news, we have developed a new website, with a secure (SSL-encryption, managed by PayPal) and easy to use donations page. We also have a Opportunity Fund Facebook page, and hope you will visit and Like us.
We now want to encourage friends and families, private and corporate donors, schools, universities, government, NGOs, arts organizations, to use these tools and support our work.
On behalf of the Foundation, I hope you will help us spread the word, complete our scholarship goals, and level the playing field so these eager and talented young people can be at the forefront of change in the world.
